Delegation from National Accreditation Board Calls on UCC Pro-Vice-Chancellor

A delegation from the National Accreditation Board (NAB) led by Prof. Andrew A. Adjei has called on the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John Nelson Buah as part of their working visit to UCC to assess the proposed Post-Graduate Programmes to be run by the School of Medical Sciences (UCCSMS).

Other members from the NAB were Dean, School of Medical Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Prof. Yaw Adu and Senior Quality Assurance Officer, NAB, Mr. E. N. Oware.

Welcoming the delegation, Prof. Buah noted that from a humble beginning, the UCCSMS has now become one of the preferred medical schools in the country and beyond. He indicated that the testimony by the Medical and Dental Council and other stakeholders in the health sector attest to the enviable reputation UCCSMS had attained in medical education.

Prof. Buah implored the team to do a fair assessment and offer their input to enrich the content of the post-graduate programmes. He noted that when “the University succeeds the entire country will also benefit from its products in the health sector.”

Prof. Adjei assured the Vice-Chancellor that the team would be objective and also give directions and advice when it was necessary to do so.
Present at the meeting were the Provost College of Health and Allied Sciences, Prof. H. S. Amonoo-Koufi; Registrar, Mr. John Kofi Nyan; Dean School of Medical Sciences, Prof. Gladys Amponsah and the Faculty Officer, Mr. David Larbi.
