Primary two pupils caught having sex during break time

A primary school in Bulawayo has
adopted a stop-and-search policy after Grade Two pupils were found having group sex using condoms during break time.

The pupils would forgo playing games like most kids their age. Instead they opted to poke each other much to the jealousy of
one girl who cried like candy had been snatched from her.

The snubbed girl wept until a groundsman thought someone had taken away something from her.

As a concerned adult, he asked the Grade 2 child what was wrong. That is when she told him
innocently that no one wanted to poke her.

A teacher at the school narrated the story to B-Metro.

“What happened is that the groundsman heard one of the Grade 2 pupils sobbing bitterly at the classroom corner and got
concerned. When he asked her what had happened, the girl while pointing at some

pupils who were having sex said:
‘Uhlala esenza lo, lalowana, lalowaya mina engangenzi’ (meaning he is always doing
others while leaving me out.) When the shocked groundsman asked the pupils what they were doing they quickly dressed up and ran back to their classrooms,” said the teacher.

The groundsman popularly known as“Madala” reported the matter to the headmistress.

Having heard such, the headmistress led a group of teachers to the children. They
searched the children’s satchels and got the shock of their lives.

A collection of pornographic discs and condoms were found. The teacher said the children’s collection was arguably  bigger than that of some adults that he
knows.

Since then it has become a school policy to search pupils.

Working undercover, B-Metro went to the school and met the deputy headmistress.

This reporter’s storyline was that her daughter told her they were being searched at school.

Mrs Nyathi, the deputy heard said: “Your children are very naughty.

We began searching them because they bring condoms and pornographic material to school.”

However, calling her later as B-Metro she professed ignorance on the issue.

“We are not aware of such an issue and we would like parents to inform us if they discover anything of that nature,” she
said.

Meanwhile, teachers at Valukhalo
Secondary School in Mangwe District are conducting lessons at a community hall that doubles up as a condom distribution centre.
