UHAS “Access Course” Application Opened

Access Course

Access Course is a six (6) week program to enable Nurses, Midwives, Public Health Practitioners and Environmental Health Practitioners who already hold certificates or diplomas to enroll onto degree programmes in their respective areas in the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho. The point of entry will be level 200.

 

School of Nursing and Midwifery

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • A holder of a Certificate from any Ministry of Health Training School and other accredited Health Training Institutions who has practised for not less than three (3) years.
  • A holder of Community Health Nursing or HATS Certificate (EN) from any Ministry of Health Training School who has practised for three(3) years or more.
  • A holder of Midwifery certificate Post – CHN and Post – EN, Post HAC Midwifery from any Ministry of Health Training School who has practised for three(3) years or more..
  • A holder of a diploma from a Ministry of Health Training Institution with a final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 2.00 or better.

 

School of Public Health

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  GHANAIAN APPLICANTS

  • A holder of a certificate from Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service training schools, Ministry of Local Government institutions and other accredited health training schools who have practiced for three years or more may apply. These shall include: Community Health Nurses, Auxiliary Nurses and Midwives, Health Assistants(Clinical) certificate holders working as Environmental Health Officers, certificate or diploma holders working as Environmental Health Assistants, Nutrition Officers, Disease Control Officers and Health Information Officers as well as Officers in closely related fields such as Statistics, Sociology and Demography.
  • A holder of a diploma in any Health Care discipline or Environmental Health discipline with an FGPA of 1.50 or above and have served in a Health Care position or an Environmental Health position for three years or more may apply.
  • A holder of diploma degree awarded by recognized teacher training colleges, who taught for three years or more, may apply.

 

INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS

 

  • Holders of Certificates/Diplomas in any of the health care disciplines or environmental health disciplines and related fields who have practiced for three years or more may apply.
  • Evidence of proficiency in English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non-English speaking countries.
  • In addition, international applicants must satisfy the professional entry requirements determined by the relevant professional body.

 

 

Point of Entry after the Access Course

Upon successful completion, participants will be eligible to apply to enter at Level 200 of the Bachelor of Public Health programme in the School of Public Health, University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS).

 

 
How To Apply

DOMESTIC (GHANAIAN) APPLICANTS

All Ghanaian applicants for the 2015/2016 Academic year admission are required to use UHAS online admission portal. The procedure for the online application process is as follows:

I. Applicants are required to purchase University of Health and  Allied Sciences E-Vouchers at GHC170.00 from any branch of the following banks:

  • Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) or
  • Agricultural Development Bank (adb) or
  • Zenith Bank

II. Upon payment E – Voucher which contains a PIN and SERIAL NUMBER will be generated by the bank which will be required in completing the online form.

III. Access the online form by visiting our online admission portal at uhasonline.com/Admissions

IV. In completing the online form, applicants will be required to upload their passport size photograph (not more than 20KB) with a white background.

V. Applicants are advised to check thoroughly all details entered before they finally submit their online applications. A form, once submitted, can be viewed, but cannot be edited.

VI. Applicants should print out application summary; attach result slips,certificates and all other relevant documents. These documents   should be submitted in triplicates (three (3) copies each) to the Registrar.

VII. The application documents as specified (VI) above should be put in any decent envelope and be posted by any fast and reliable means to

FOREIGN APPLICANTS

Foreign applicants who have the above qualifications or their equivalent from an accredited / recognized institution can apply as follows:

I. Make payment of a non – refundable fee of $130.00 or its equivalent to :

Bank Details: Ecobank, Legon Branch, Ghana

Account Details: University of Health and Allied Sciences Foreign Account

II. Access the online form by visiting our online admission portal at uhasonline.com/Admissions and click on “Click to apply as a Foreign Student”.

IV. An activation code will be sent to your mobile number and email address.

V. Use the activation code to access the application form.

VI. Applicants will be required to upload their passport size photo graph (not more than 20KB) with a white background.

VII. After filling the online form scan your pay-in slip and certificates/results slips into one PDF or WORD document and attach it to the application forms before submission online

VIII. Applicants should note that no application will be processed without proof of payment of the application fee.
